Nuance PDF Settings for Excel

The first setting is made with a toggle control in the Nuance PDF menu: select Create PDF from Entire Workbook to make a PDF from the whole workbook. De-select it to create a PDF only from the current worksheet.

Click the PDF Converter button settings Nuance PDF Settings for Excel Settings button in Microsoft Excel on the Nuance toolbar or ribbon, or use the corresponding menu item to open the Nuance PDF Settings for Excel dialog box. It lets you specify settings for all PDF files you create from Excel until you change them again.

Settings tab

Select the first checkbox to have bookmarks created from worksheet names when converting an entire workbook. Select further checkmarks to transfer comments and hyperlinks into the PDF; de-select checkmarks to have these items ignored. When a link targets a different document, choose the addressing method – via the full or relative path name. A full path is suitable when both files reside on your local computer or within its reach. A relative path is better if the files are to be transferred to a different computer. Select the lower checkbox if you always want to change the target document extension to .pdf in the link. Then, if the targeted file is not a PDF, you must create a PDF from it, with the same name and location.

Advanced Settings tab

Click Advanced Settings and choose Embed metadata if you wish the subject, author, keywords etc. already defined for the Excel file to be transferred to the PDF. Any data category not supported by the PDF Document Information structure is added as a custom field. This avoids the need to re-enter existing texts in the Document Settings dialog box. Any data entered there is ignored if Embed metadata is enabled.

The Advanced Settings tab also lets you display the ScanSoft PDF Create! Properties panel for further settings. This includes the instructions for naming the PDF files and their target locations.
