DMS support
In PDF Professional Enterprise, you can open files from a Document Management Systems (DMS) and save PDF files back to a DMS. See a list of supported DMS systems in System Requirements. The menu items listed below appear only if a supported DMS is detected on your computer.
To open a file from a Document Management System

Select File > Open from [Document Management System].

In the Logon dialog box, enter authentication information, then click OK.

Select a file type and files in the Open dialog box and click OK.

In the Version dialog box, select the latest file version or one of the previous versions according to your needs.
Tip:
A wide range of files can be opened – not just PDF files. PDF files are opened directly. Image and XPS files are converted internally to PDF, editable formats such Microsoft Office or WordPerfect documents are converted to PDF with no interaction, using existing settings as displayed by selecting the ScanSoft PDF Create! printer in a Print dialog box and clicking Properties.
To save PDF files to a Document Management System

Select File > Save to [Document Management System]

Files coming from a DMS can be saved as new documents, new versions, same versions and you can also revert to the original version.
Files coming from a file system can be saved as new documents.
Using a DMS menu
Open from [Document Management System]: Use this to open a file from a Document Management System. This command functions the same way as File > Open.
Save to [Document Management System]: Use this to save files to a Document Management System. It functions the same way as File > Save to.
Insert from [Document Management System]: Use this to insert pages from the selected file into the currently opened PDF file.
Extract to [Document Management System]: Use this to copy pages from the currently opened PDF file and insert them into the selected file. The Extract Pages dialog box appears.
Attach a file from [Document Management System]: Use this to attach a file of any type to the currently open PDF file.
WorkSite has two more menu items:
Register WorkSite Servers: More than one WorkSite server can be used within a network. Use this command to register the servers you want to use (save passwords, etc.)
Use Document Profile: From version 8, DeskSite has two different user interfaces (UI) for opening and saving files. Select the Use Document Profile menu item to specify the UI of a version earlier than 8. If this menu item is not selected, the latest UI will be used.
To extract pages to a DMS

Select Extract to [Document Management System] from a DMS menu.

In the Extract Pages to [DMS] dialog box, select which page or page range to extract. You can choose from Current Page, Range or Selected.
To extract selected pages, select the required page thumbnails in the Pages panel before opening this dialog box. -
Optionally, select Delete After Extraction, if you do not need these extracted pages in your original document any more. They will be deleted from the document.

Click OK.

In the Save As dialog box of your DMS, name the target file and click Save.
To insert pages from a DMS

Select Insert from [Document Management System] in a DMS menu.

In the Open dialog box of your DMS, select a file and click Open.

In the Insert Pages from Document Management System] dialog box, select source pages: All pages or a page range.

Select location: Before or After First Page, Last Page, Current Page or a specified page. Close the dialog box. The thumbnails of the inserted pages appear in the Pages panel in the required place.
Note:
When a page range is given for extracting or inserting pages, the pages in the range must be consecutive.
