Converting PDF and XPS Files inside Document Management Systems

With PDF Professional Enterprise, you can import PDF and XPS files into the PDF Converter Assistant from all supported DM systems, as described in Starting from a Document Management System.

Alternatively, when working in three DM systems you can select a single PDF or XPS file inside the DMS, call the Converter Assistant, perform the conversion with full control over the process and then save the resulting file to your local file system or back to a location inside the DMS. Resulting files should be inspected and compared to the source before being archived.

Inside Microsoft SharePoint:

For this functionality to be available in SharePoint, it must be configured by an administrator. Guidance on this is given in the PDF Converter Enterprise Network Installation Guide.

To create an editable file from a single PDF or XPS file inside SharePoint, select it and choose Open in PDF Converter from its context menu. This item may have a different name because the administrator can change it.

Inside Hummingbird Enterprise:

Use Open in PDF Converter in the shortcut menu of a PDF or XPS file.

Inside Interwoven WorkSite:

Select a PDF or XPS file and use the Open in PDF Converter menu item from the Nuance PDF menu.

Note

In Hummingbird DOCSOpen and in LiveLink you cannot open source files directly inside your Document Management System. You have to get the source files from the DMS into the Converter Assistant through its Open drop-down list or File Menu. See: Starting from a Document Management System.
