Direct Conversion

Direct conversion means that the conversion process is started with one click from an integrated program using the current settings. You can start direct conversion from

  • Windows Explorer, using a shortcut menu

  • Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes, using the PDF Converter button conv6 Direct Conversion button

  • Microsoft Word, using the File > Open menu item. In Word 2007 and 2010, using the PDF Converter button ms%20office Direct Conversion Microsoft Office button, then the Open button.

Note

You can enable or disable the integration of the PDF Professional in your programs in the Preferences panel.

 

Selecting processing mode and output format

 

This is different in the three kinds of integrated programs.

 

You can select the processing mode and the output format (target application) when you start the converting process

  • from the Windows Explorer context menu, or

  • in a Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes dialog box that appears by clicking the PDF Converter button settings Direct Conversion button. In Outlook 2007 and 2010,  you can select processing mode and output format in the Settings dialog box.

If you start direct conversion using the File > Open menu item in Microsoft Word, the processing mode should be selected in advance in the PDF Converter Settings dialog box. To display this dialog box, select PDF Converter Settings from the Tools menu of Microsoft Word. In this case the output format is always Word.

 

In Word 2007 and 2010,  click the PDF Converter eng buttons open and settings Direct Conversion PDF Settings button from the Nuance PDF ribbon to display the PDF Converter Settings dialog box.

Note

Direct conversion always uses the currently selected processing options and output options. If you want to check or change these options, you have to open the PDF Converter Assistant and make the necessary changes.
