Preferences

This panel lets you enable or disable the integration of PDF Converter in other programs, so PDF files can be transformed into files that can be edited in the chosen application. To display the panel, select Preferences from the File menu of the Converter Assistant. This panel is also available in PDF Converter Professional, under Edit > Preferences > General > Integrations.

 

PDF Converter functionality can be integrated in the following programs:

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Enable this to add a PDF Converter item to the shortcut menu that appears when you right-click on a link to a PDF or XPS file in a web page or to an HTML page hosting a PDF or XPS file. The referenced file is converted using Converter Assistant. Your enabling or disabling takes effect only when Explorer is restarted.

 

Mozilla FireFox

Enable this to add a PDF Converter item to the shortcut menu that appears when you right-click on a link to a PDF or XPS file in a web page or to an HTML page hosting a PDF or XPS file. The referenced file is converted using Converter Assistant. Your enabling or disabling takes effect only when FireFox is restarted.

 

Right Mouse Click

Enable this to add a PDF Converter item to the shortcut menu that appears when you right-click on a PDF or XPS icon or name in Windows Explorer or on your desktop. This allows direct conversion or use of Converter Assistant.

 

Microsoft Word

Enable this to place a PDF Converter button in the Microsoft Word toolbar. It calls the Converter Assistant.

 

Microsoft Excel

Enable this to place a PDF Converter button in the Microsoft Excel toolbar. It calls the Converter Assistant.

 

Microsoft PowerPoint

Enable this to place an Open PDF/XPS button in the Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 toolbar. It calls the Converter Assistant. For the conversion .NET Framework 3.0 is required.

 

Microsoft Outlook

Enable this to place a PDF Converter button in the Outlook toolbar and in the toolbar of individual messages. It lets you convert PDF or XPS file attachments in your messages. Conversion can be performed with or without PDF Converter Assistant. You can select the target application and output format if the converter runs without the Assistant. If a message has multiple attachments, you will be asked to select one. Your enabling or disabling takes effect only when Outlook is restarted.

 

Lotus Notes

Enable this to place a PDF Converter button in the Lotus Notes toolbar and in the toolbar of individual messages. It lets you convert PDF or XPS file attachments in your messages. Conversion can be performed with or without PDF Converter Assistant. You can select the target application and output format if the converter runs without the Assistant. If a message has multiple attachments, you will be asked to select one. Your enabling or disabling takes effect only when Lotus Notes is restarted.

 

WordPerfect Office

Enable this to add the Open PDF/XPS menu item to the File menu of Corel WordPerfect Office. It calls the Converter Assistant.

 

Always on Top

Enable this to make the Converter Assistant always appear on top of other windows.
