Processing Modes
There are four processing modes you can choose from. Select a processing mode on the basis of the characteristics of your document type to be converted.
To select a processing mode use the Options menu or the drop-down list of the Mode tool. This tool may have different appearance on the toolbar depending on the selection in its drop-down list:

Standard Document |
The pages have body text and maybe titles, columns, tables and pictures. E.g. business letters, newspaper articles. |

Legal |
The pages have single-column text, and might contain pleading numbers in the left margin. |

Spreadsheet |
The pages contain mainly tables or spreadsheets (with a tabular layout). E.g. financial sheets, inventories. |

Form |
The pages have spaces, edit boxes, comb boxes, checkmarks and similar elements for collecting information. E.g. application forms |

Note
The selected processing mode may automatically be changed by the program if you select an output format which is not supported by the selected processing mode. PDF Professional keeps the processing mode and the output format synchronized.
Processing Options
The default processing mode is Standard Document. Click Standard Document to display its processing options. To select another processing mode and display its panel with the processing options, click the arrow beside the Mode tool.
There are general and document-type specific processing options on each panel. The values given are stored separately for each processing mode. For details see Standard Document, Legal, Spreadsheet and Form.
