Creating PDF Files from Microsoft Word

PDF Converter button create From Microsoft Word Create PDF: This button lets you generate a PDF file from the current Word document, transferring the hyperlinks, bookmarks, comments and document information (metadata) to the PDF file according to the PDF Link settings. Using the File/Print menu results in a PDF file without these elements. Because of the additional processing, this type of conversion might be slightly slower.

 

To create PDF files from Microsoft Word 2007 or 2010

 

PDF Create provides a Nuance PDF tab and ribbon for Word 2007 and 2010.

  1. Click the Nuance PDF tab.

  2. Click the Create PDF button, or select Create PDF from the Nuance PDF menu:

  1. Accept or change the default target folder and file name in the Save As dialog box that appears.

  2. Optionally, add document information through the Document Properties dialog box, or choose to have the Word file’s existing document information (metadata) transferred to the PDF.

To create PDF files from Microsoft Word XP and 2003

  1. Select Create PDF from the Nuance PDF menu or click PDF Converter button create From Microsoft Word.

  2. Accept or change the default target folder and file name in the Save As dialog box that appears.

  3. Optionally, add document information as described above.

Note

If you do not see the buttons in a toolbar, go to View > Toolbars and select Nuance PDF.

 

 

Transferring bookmarks, links and comments

In all supported Microsoft Word versions, bookmarks, links, comments and metadata can be transferred to the created PDF file according to the settings made on the Links and other tabs of the Nuance PDF Settings for Word dialog box. If you choose the Embed metadata option, the document information is taken from the source Word document and not from the Document Settings dialog box.

 

Tips for all supported Microsoft Word versions

Click PDF Converter button create and mail From Microsoft Word or select Create PDF and E-mail from the Nuance PDF menu, to create a PDF and also send a copy as an e-mail attachment.

Use the PDF Links menu item from the Nuance PDF menu or click PDF Converter button settings From Microsoft Word to open the Nuance PDF Settings for Word dialog box. Use this to transfer bookmarks, links, comments and metadata from Word to the resulting PDF file and also to create a tagged PDF and access the PDF Create! Properties dialog box.

In Microsoft Word you can display the ScanSoft PDF Create! Properties dialog box also if you choose the ScanSoft PDF Create! printer driver in the Print dialog box and then click the Properties button.  

 

From Microsoft Word
