Changing Settings

  • To change general settings: paper size, orientation, resolution and scale, grayscale or color PDF generation, display the General panel of the ScanSoft PDF Create! Properties dialog box.

  • To change PDF settings for compatibility, web optimizing, font embedding, compression, security, watermark, destination, document settings and tagged PDF, display the PDF Settings panel of the ScanSoft PDF Create! Properties dialog box.

  • To change controls for font embedding, display the Embed Font Controls panel.

  • To change compression controls, display the Compression Controls panel.

  • To change security controls, display the Security Controls panel.

  • To change watermark controls, display the Watermark Controls panel.

  • To change destination, display the Destination Settings dialog box, or the PDF Settings panel of the ScanSoft PDF Create! Properties dialog box. See the Destination Controls topic.

  • To add or change title, subject, author and keywords to a PDF, display the Document Settings dialog box. If metadata transfer is enabled from a Microsoft Office application, this overrides any data entered here.

  • To change overlay settings, display the Overlay dialog box, or the Overlay Options panel. See the About Overlay topic.

  • To change printer driver settings, display the ScanSoft PDF Create! Properties dialog box and see the Printer Driver Settings topic.

  • To change MRC compression settings, display the MRC PDF Conversion Settings dialog box.

  • To change settings (OCR language) for Searchable PDF, display the Searchable PDF Conversion Settings or the Searchable MRC PDF Conversion Settings dialog boxes.

  • To change mail archiving settings, display the Settings dialog box.

Profiles can be used in the PDF Create Assistant to make useful sets of pre-defined settings available with one click. For more details, see Modifying Profiles. When creating PDF files from Print dialog boxes, settings must be made individually as explained above.
